Keep stress under control<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The NHS says stress can cause digestive issues.<\/p>\n<p><strong>6. Go to the loo when you need to<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>It\u2019s important to respond to the call of Mother Nature straight away. Otherwise you lose the urge and stools and gas build up.<\/p>\n<p><strong>7. Peppermint tea<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>If you think your bloating is due to pre-menstrual syndrome (PMS), Dr Hicks says peppermint could help disperse gas.<\/p>\n<p><strong>8. Cut your salt intake<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Dr Atkinson says that salt causes fluid retention, which can cause bloating.For fluid retention, also try primrose oil, vitamins E and B6.<\/p>\n<p><strong>9. Natural remedies<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>\u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/www.hollandandbarrett.com\/shop\/product\/natures-garden-slippery-elm-bark-capsules-370mg-60005125\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Slippery elm<\/a>\u00a0(capsules or powder) is good,\u201d says medical herbalist Dee Atkinson. \u201cThe benefits of this powdered bark include soothing inflammation.
